Bright lights and confusion

Where did you give birth or where was the birth you witnessed?
Leeds, UK

Can you describe where your/the birth was?

Birth was traumatic and drugged. Bright lights and confusion. I had a dry mouth.
Birth was a hospital theatre surrounded by people and machines.
I was there in body, but nothing else.
Birth was not knowing how my baby was.

Who was present at your/the birth?
My partner, a surgical team.

Can you describe the experience of giving birth or watching the birth?
Birth was exhausting, sleepless for days; arguing with Consultants about policy and statistics and room availability.
Birth was not sticking to ‘hospital guidelines’ and fighting for my rights.
Birth was having my baby cut out of me, when I was too tired and exhausted to fully comprehend what was going on.
Birth was the start of a new journey.
